Spray applications
Tank cleaning
For the efficient cleaning of containers and tanks, Lechler
offers a large choice of self-rotating tank cleaning nozzles.
Most are free-spinning, driven and lubricated by the cleaning
fluid, but Lechler does offer gear-driven units with more
controlled rotation. The free spinning models optimally work
within a low pressure range from 15 to 60 psi while the gear-driven
models with their slower rotation can operate above 100 psi.
The cleaning effect of these products is achieved by the particular
spray coverage, the amount of flow, and the movement and impact
of the flow. Selecting the most appropriate model saves energy,
cleaning fluid, and expensive cleaning time. For tanks of
every size from 3 feet to 60 feet in diameter, there’s a specific
Lechler tank cleaning product to do the job.
Food cleaning
Lechler’s flat fan and full cone nozzles are excellent choices
for spraying for the purpose of cleaning food during processing.
Flat fans are widely used for cleaning foods moving on a conveyor.
While full cones may also be used in these situations, they
are also good for spraying food which is stationary. Lechler
has many options of either style to choose from, with a wide
range or spray coverages and flow rates that are most appropriate
for your application requirements.
Bottle preparation and processing
- Cleaning – As for food cleaning, flat fan or full cone
nozzles can be used to clean or rinse bottles for preparation
and processing.
- Drying – To dry bottles or prepare them for label application,
Lechler’s line of WhisperBlast allow for a fast drying of
surfaces. WhisperBlasts are available in a variety of models
and materials to best suit your needs. They provide for:
- Reduced energy costs by lower air consumption at the
same blowing power
- Higher capacity by better blowing power from greater
distances
- Evenly-directed air streams
- Significantly reduced noise levels (“Whisper”)
Conveyor lubrication
For the directed spraying of lubricating fluid upon conveyors
used in food and beverage processing, Lechler’s air atomizing
nozzles create a fine, even mist to effectively coat the target
while minimizing the amount of lubrication sprayed, helping
to reduce maintenance costs. Low flow full cones may also
be considered for this purpose.
Food coating
To apply a coating upon a food product (such as butter on
bread or icing on crackers), Lechler’s ViscoMist air atomizing
nozzle has proven to be an effective tool. The ViscoMist is
especially-designed to spray more viscous fluids (such as
oils and liquefied food products) than simply water-like sprays.
But it also can atomize those fluids into as small droplets
as possible to create a fine yet even distribution of coating.
