Lechler offers a wide range of Flat fan series nozzles.  This nozzle family has become an industrial standard solution for roll cooling applications. Typically the Flat Fan series of nozzle is the preferred spray pattern in most rolling mills. Throughout our broad selection of choice, all of our Roll Cooling Nozzle Designs will offer precise spray parameters and flow characteristics.

To date, more than 300 Lechler SELECTOSPRAY ® roll cooling systems have been installed globally in cold rolling mills for steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, as well as in aluminum hot rolling mills and foil mills. The SELECTOSPRAY® system can be used in conjunction with any of the shape control systems currently available matching the roll zoning dimensioned to exactly match that of the shape metering roll installed. The SELECTOSPRAY® system includes precision engineering for placement of system in your mill, control cabinet, electrical or air hoses, and complete headers and valves.

One of the most critical variables to a successful production equation is the roll cooling system. A system that works well can make a huge contribution to the life of the rolls and control of the final surface and shape. Properly designed roll cooling headers ensure precise application of coolant for optimal heat removal from the rolls and proper lubrication of the rolls takes place.  Whether the operation is a single stand, reversing, or tandem mill, Lechler's engineers will work with you to analyze your application, and will provide sound recommendations to satisfy your mill needs.

Lechler has the software and capability to investigate the coolant volume distribution characteristics across the work roll sprays with a computer model. Lechler engineers can quickly determine if symmetrical cooling is present on the top and bottom work rolls for Cold Mills and Hot Mills (single stand rolling mills and tandem rolling mills).

Lechler has the competence and experience to also help you to optimize your roll cooling system performance.  Over the life span of a Rolling Mill the requirements in terms of product quality and the range of steel grades may change significantly. In particular the capability of the installed roll cooling system needs to be investigated as one of the key technology areas when it comes to process modifications aiming for a higher productivity.
