The new Lechler SLAB COOLER represents a major advance in air atomizing technology. It achieves the small droplet size desired for secondary cooling with as much as 30% to 50% less compressed air consumption, resulting in a lower operating cost.
Combined in that design there are additional features:

• High turn-down ratio
• Clog resistant internal passages
  
• Easy mounting for exact position
  
• High heat transfer coefficient
  

Under some conditions, the droplet diameter can be coarser than our Master Cooler or 148 series nozzles, so the SLAB COOLER will not be the first choice with every grade of product or casting speed; however the design has proven itself effective in a number of initial installations.

So far, each design has been a custom configuration for the particular user. The tabulation indicates existing designs which are presently available. If you need something different for your installation, consult with your Lechler representative to discuss your particular needs.
