TwinAbsorb

Nozzles for wet flue gas desulphurization

The innovative technology of Lechler TwinAbsorb nozzles ensure for an efficient flue gas cleaning and reliable SO2 separation. Their improved efficiency, the reduced operating costs together with the low maintenance costs make TwinAbsorb nozzles, from a process technology as well as economical consideration, the first choice for power plant operators, but also for operators of waste-to energy plants with wet flue gas cleaning processes.

The TwinAbsorb nozzles are characterized by the patented technology of the double hollow or double full cone with only one inflow. By a doubling of the spray cone, the nozzles achieve more fine droplets (SMD D32) compared to nozzles with single spray cones. The TwinAbsorb is not only particularly beneficial with large volumetric throughputs per nozzle. When maintaining the posative properties of standard tangential full or hollow cone nozzles, further process-related benefits result:

  • Improved material exchange from higher relative velocities from the gas flow
  • No introduction of additional swirling in the gas flow
  • Supports a more uniform gas distribution over the washer cross-section
  • Reduced torque on the pipelines

With the bi-directional TwinAbsorb nozzles TAV and TAH, further process-related benefits result from the spray jets directed upwards and downwards with counter swirl-direction

  • Doubling of the hydraulic spray levels compared to single directed nozzles
  • Reduced pressure loss when used in counter-flow washers
  • Increased dwell time of the droplets in the gas flow
  • Increased turbulences in the droplets for active material exchange

Variants of the TwinAbsorb nozzle

Sprühbild TwinAbsorb® Equilaterale Doppel-Vollkegeldüse (TAEV)

TwinAbsorb equilateral double full cone nozzle (TAEV)

The proven equilateral double full cone nozzle TAEV generates two full cones with only one inflow.

  • Optimized covering of the washer edge zone compared to conventional full cone nozzles.
  • Reduced wall loss compared to hollow cone nozzles.
Sprühbild TwinAbsorb® Equilaterale Doppel-Hohlkegeldüse (TAEH)

TwinAbsorb equilateral double hollow cone nozzle (TAEH)

The proven equilateral double hollow cone nozzle TAEH generates two hollow cones with only one inflow.

  • By optimization of the secondary atomisation, a highly efficient generation of fine droplets takes place in the collision area without additional energy input.
  • At the same time, an improved coverage of the washer cross-section is achieved compared with conventional hollow cone nozzles.
  • Enlarged exchange surface compared with full cone nozzles.
TwinAbsorb® Doppel-Vollkegeldüse (TAV)

TwinAbsorb double full cone nozzle (TAV)

The proven bi-directional double full cone nozzle TAV generates two full cones with counter swirl-direction.

  • Better coverage of the washer edge zone compared to conventional full cone nozzles.
  • Reduced wall loss compared to hollow cone nozzles.
TwinAbsorb® Doppel-Hohlkegeldüse (TAH)

TwinAbsorb double hollow cone nozzle (TAH)

The proven bi-directional double hollow cone nozzle TAH generates two hollow cones with counter swirl-direction.

  • By doubling the collision area, the secondary atomization is intensified and thus, an activated surface is generated for the quick exchange of material.
